When I was a kid, I went through a major tomboy phase where I “loathed” the color pink. If my mom spotted a shirt or bag or necklace with a rosy hue for me while shopping, I’d practically throw a fit and run away.
The thing is, I think that deep down, I never really disliked the color pink. I’m pretty sure I was just trying really, really hard to do the cool thing and act disgusted by it. And today, I have plenty of pink in my closet, home, and beauty supply stash to make up for my years of ignoring it.
If you’re planning an at-home spa night, here are five of my favorite products to have at-the-ready. Oddly enough, they’re all packaged in pink, and I’m perfectly okay with it! As an added bonus, these brands and products are cruelty-free.
Pretty in Pink Pampering Essentials
1. Method Pure Peace Body Wash
This body wash has a light and soothing fragrance and leaves my skin feeling soft instead of stripped and dry like other soaps tend to. Plus, you can put a few pumps in a running bath for a bubbly, relaxing experience!
Shop it now / $6.99 at Target.
2. Pacifica 7 Free Nail Color in Pink Crush
Cruelty-free nail polish is hard to come by. When I found this line, it became an instant favorite. The colors are flattering and long-lasting, especially if you use a top coat. I love the clear, matte top-coat that’s also a part of the 7 Free line!
Shop it now / $8.99 at Target.
3. One With Nature Dead Sea Spa Blend in Rose Petal
I no longer take baths without bath salts, and One With Nature’s options go beyond what most brands’ do. Their salts contain “21 different skin nourishing minerals such as: calcium, iodine, potassium, magnesium, zinc and bromide” and leave your skin feeling silky soft and refreshed.
Shop it now / $20.94 (four-pack) at One With Nature.
Note: I’ve found this locally at Earth Fare, where you can buy one pack at a time!
4. L’Oreal Dermo Expertise Eye Defense Cream
I’ve been on the hunt for awhile for an eye cream that suits my needs (dark circles and fine lines.) While I’m not 100% committed to just this one, it’s definitely my favorite for using and layering in my nighttime routine. It’s light and absorbs quickly, without feeling cakey or sticky after it dries, and I can definitely tell a difference in the mornings after I’ve used it versus when I don’t.
Shop it now / $9.49 on Amazon.
5. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Lotion
I’ve been using this body butter for years. It’s my absolute favorite, especially when my knees, elbows, heels, and hands are in need of some extra moisture. It’s super hydrating but feels light, and the scent is dreamy to boot.
Shop it now / $11.20 at Target.
I hope you find some time to treat yourself this weekend! Let me know what at-home spa essentials are a key part of your routine
xo, Aly
