I can’t describe how good it feels to be home and know that we’ll continue to be home regularly for quite some time. While autumn is always the busiest season in our lives, most of what keeps us on the move happens in town, and we can crash in our own bed at night, whereas the summer always has us traveling and gone from our own space for long periods of time.
I spent the early part of the week digging up the majority of our summer garden and pruning what is still thriving, clearing the front porch of summer plants and decor to trade it in for mums and pumpkins, and generally trying to add a touch of cozy to our home in preparation for fall.
Each year during this season, I find myself coming back to some of the same old songs and latching onto new ones that I’ll gradually let go of and come back to next year around the same time. For whatever reason, they just feel like fall to me and I’ll regularly stream them, or the albums they’re on, as I’m moving about the house doing chores or lounging or creating.
I believe every season should have a soundtrack, and, for me at least, this is Autumn’s.
I hope you enjoy it, too! What artists, albums, or songs are your go-tos in the fall? I’m always looking to add to my library and am open to your suggestions.
