Last week, Jeremy and I were knocking out little house projects left and right. A light fixture here, some sanding there, a gallon of paint and a smidgen of stain…
We go in waves like this, making zero progress one week to giving 110% of our attention to it the next. Recently, it hit us both at once that, though we still have loads to do, our house has almost completely transformed over the last year. So crazy.
Many of you have followed along with us as we’ve made these changes, and I can’t wait to share our whole home, room by room, with you soon.
For now, though, I thought I’d show you a few snaps of what our place is looking like this October, because I’ve learned during this home-owning adventure that it’s so very important to pause every now and again, and remind ourselves that these things take time and we should try our best to remember what life was like in the process of it all, too.
It’s these ordinary days, when not everything is wrapped up with a bow and completely finished, when we’re out of money and time and energy to carry on with whatever it is we’re tackling and just need to sit back for awhile and make other memories in this little space of our as it is, that really make this house a home.
When we look back at our time here years from now, those are the days and the moments that will matter the most.
One small step at a time!
xo, Aly
