Hi friends! Jeremy and I are getting excited for a quick trip to Chicago we’ll be taking later this week. One of my gifts to him this Christmas was a pair of tickets to see Julien Baker play at Lincoln Hall and we’ve decided to stick around for a bit before and after the show to get our Windy City fix.
Although we’re only a few hours drive from Chicago, I’ve only ever been spent time there on a couple of incredibly quick daytrips or at the airport, so I’m excited to take a bit more of the city in this time.
We’ll be staying in the Lincoln Park area and, while we’ll have a car with us, would prefer to keep it parked and do most of our travel by foot, bike, or public transport. But we’re definitely up for doing some exploration outside of that part of the city, too – likely on our way in or out.
We’d LOVE to hear any recommendations you may have based on your Chicago visits! Our favorite things to do when visiting new cities include trying out new restaurants, breweries, and cafes, thrifting for books, records, clothes, and home decor, visiting museums and galleries, and trying to experience “life as a local” as best we can.
Please take a moment to share your suggestions with us! We’ll be sure to follow-up on any we’re able to try out.
xo, Aly
[…] I share a recap of our adventures, I want to send out a big THANK YOU! to everyone who shared their favorite Chicago spots with us. We checked several off the list and will certainly attempt to continue doing so on our next visit. […]
